Hey guys,
My buddy and I are new to the server and seem to be having some trouble with our group comp.
He's 2 boxing a warrior and cleric on seperate accounts. Both carrying a wizard bot.
I'm boxing a mage with a rogue bot.
We're currently on Cazic Thule and getting wrecked. His tank just can't withstand the punches, or his cleric goes OOM trying to heal my earth pet. (which tanks better than his warrior).
Also, the wizards and my mage are getting resisted way too much for us to burn before the cleric goes OOM.
My questions is, if we wanted less stress of 2 boxing.
What class should my friend play, and what class should I play. And 2 bots - what should they be?
I'm thinking we get a cleric bot and forget about healing. Maybe 2 cleric bots? I'm sure his warrior needs more gear, but I'm not sure where to get it. We're almost fully Hate geared.

Cazic is the first difficult encounter on the server. He hits like a truck and that makes tanking him pretty tough if you're trying to do it legit. There are cheap ways around it, like replacing those wizards with mage bots and just chain summoning the 3 pets until he dies.
If you want to beat him legit, with the tank and spank, you'll prolly need a cleric bot plus your cleric. Let the cleric bot do the ch while you spot heal. Exchange the wizards for melee dps, rogue or ber maybe.
You guys are both two boxing and each has a bot so that makes 8 total toons right? Sorry its early still =p
You might consider making two groups and just killing him twice

My buddy is two boxing, I'm not.
I like to concentrate all my attention on one character. I told him not to two both 2 important roles cause he'll need to keep switching between the two screens often (tank / heals).
What if he goes Tank Main - Cleric Bot. So bot is CHing.
I'll go Druid Main and spot heal?
Then I can go bot Berserker, and he goes 2nd box DPS / Bot DPS

Personally rolled with warrior + shaman box with cleric + rogue bots, carried me just fine up until velious.
Cazic is pretty fierce, you wanna pull him to the walls of the temple or to NE corner of the zone so the gflux is less of a problem. Worry not, once you're done with him Kunark and much of velious is smooth sailing. The next major bottleneck isn't until Vulak (mostly due to the adds in his room that you hafta work around somehow).
I'd say 2box war/shm, plus a FD class (SK or monk). FD puller becomes pretty important in some parts, especially come Vulak and later the elemental planes.

You simply cannot beat the cleric bot in any way shape or form, the #bot cure (resist type) is just gonna trump anything else a player can do. the Ability to instant cure the entire group, without using mana, or without stopping your Ch chains on the bot is just an overwhelming advantage, as well as still being able to #bot group heal on demand, makes a cleric bot a must have over a player controlled cleric.
You are better off going with an offheal main, we used a War/Wiz/Druid players as our mains, then we had an Enchanter/Cleric/Mage as bots. The druid offhealed if the cleric couldnt keep up, and the druid could do some DPS if the cleric was fine, you will want all the DPS you can muster, as well as having all heals covered, a druid is nice for that.
EDIT: As a wizard, we made sure we had the enchanter for tash and slows, and my mage bot malo'd allowing us to take full advantage of resist debuffs to make our life easier. Our entire DPS was spell based from classic to the end of custom content.

I started off on SK/ Shaman box but switched to Cleric/ War as i wanted better heals and discs. This i have found to be a nice solid combo and i use the bots as my dps. CT, PD, Vulak, Aten hara etc are like the top bosses for the era so they are harder than the usual. I found things became a lot easier when you get the second bot in velious.

PD is pretty easy, you just hafta master the art of "#bot group guard healer behind a corner so it isn't getting stun AE'd".

Will this setup work - healers being smart?
Me: Warrior (Ogre / Troll) Bot: Cleric (Infinint Mana?)
Friend: Monk Bot: Shaman (Spot Heals / Slow)
Friend 2nd Box: Mage (Malo / Water Pet) Bot: Zerker (Massive DPS)

Sounds fine, war+clr+slower+dps all the way.
Been rolling with clr+shm bots and they've done a fine job keeping people alive in fights. Just make sure to hide em behind corners before engaging things with irritating AEs (especially luclin and beyond when like 50% of bosses have an ae silence).
